Giuseppe Stabilini
Associate Professor of Practice, Procurement & Supply Management
Giuseppe Stabilini is an associate professor of practice of Procurement & Supply Management at SDA Bocconi School of Management, where, since January 2017, he has been the operations and technology management faculty deputy. He is the director of the Executive Program in Procurement & Supply Management and head of the supply chain management module in full-time MBA.
His research activities focus on procurement and supply chain management, with a strong focus on chief procurement officer responsibilities and decisions in industrial or service organizations. Recently, he has focused his attention on projects dealing with suppliers’ portals and supply chain collaboration.
He is the author of numerous books and articles on his topics of interest. His works have been published in Strategie&Procurement, Finanza Marketing Produzione, and Economia & Management, among others. He has conducted numerous research, in-house education, and consulting projects with some of the leading players in the automotive, household appliance, pharmaceutical, and telecommunication industries.
Giuseppe earned a degree in business administration from Università Bocconi and completed the International Teachers Programme at HEC Paris in 2012. He has won many teaching and research awards, including the “Teaching Excellence Award” (SDA Bocconi, Open Programs, 2009), a “Teaching Award” (Università Bocconi, 2013–2014), and the “Innovation in Technology-Based Learning” award (SDA Bocconi Learning Lab, 2011).
Silvia Zamboni
Lecturer, Innovation, Operations and Technology Management
Silvia Zamboni is Core Faculty at SDA Bocconi School of Management and Lecturer in Bocconi University in Global Operations and Supply Chain Management and Innovation and Technology Management. She is Contract Professor at Poli.design in Business and Innovation, and at Università degli Studi di Milano Statale in Innovation management. At Bocconi University she is Assistant Program Director of BSc in International Economics and Management.
She has conducted research and in-house education projects with enterprises operating in various industries, such as pharmaceutical, automotive and related services, machinery, medical devices, home appliances, and banking.
Her research and teaching activities focus on supply chain management and network collaboration for innovation, innovation and technology management, service purchases and development, and multi-project management. She is the author of books and articles on her topics of interest.
Her works have been published in journals such as Economia & Management and Procurement Channel, among others. In 2013, she won the “Best case for the market” section (“Bringing Technology to the Market”) of the EFMD Case Writing Competition, with the business case “787 Dreamliner Cleared for Take-Off?” (Parts A, B, C), written in collaboration with V. Fiorillo and R. Secchi, SDA Bocconi for The Case Center. Silvia earned a degree in business administration from Bocconi University and a Ph.D. in logistics and supply chain management from Bergamo University in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology—Zaragoza Logistic Centre (MIT-ZLC). As part of her continuous education, she participated in a study tour in Japan, visiting companies leader in Lean Management (“Japan: champions of lean production”) organize by da SDA Bocconi School of Management. She also concluded the intensive course Innovative Pedagogy in Challenging Times in 2015 at China Europe International Business School (Shanghai and Beijing, 2015, International Teachers Programme).
Rialto Global Supply Chain Challenge is a multiplayer business simulator based on supply chain dynamics. The participant is asked to manage a productive plant, collaborating with their teammates and competing with other teams.
Teams have to manage the most important aspects of the organization, from procurement to operations, and from logistics to distribution, sales and marketing, and allocating financial resources.
Objectives
SDA Bocconi School of Management professors will award the best-performing team and the best-played role.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a verified digital certificate of completion from SDA Bocconi School of Management.
